In the following race at 3.25, another novice hurdle over 2m 5f, Corkage is the second horse to keep onside. Corkage won a Class 2 hurdle in taking style last time out at Doncaster at the beginning of the month. Keith Reveley’s charge made all and caught the eye with the way he stayed on strongly, promising more to come. The compact nine-year old gelding can be temperamental, illustrated by his wearing of cheek-pieces and blinkers on previous runs. If in the mood though, Corkage can pay the way for a few celebratory drinks. On Sunday’s 3.30 at Carlisle, Nicky Richards’ Find A Key went very close to winning a week ago at Ayr when pipped a head by Red Rocco on heavy ground. Find A Key had made smooth headway and looked the likeliest winner before making a mess of the second last obstacle. Pleasingly the five-year old battled on gamely under pressure from his jockey Dougie Costello. Having been kept to maiden and novice hurdles Find A Key should be competitive off a mark of 119 on his handicap debut.]]>
