Palermo – Roma Match Preview

Palermo’s previously great run of results came to an abrupt end last weekend against Fiorentina where they did manage to entertain the fans but ended up losing 4-3 at the Franchi. The Rosanero are lying just 6 points off third place and will be wanting to return to their great form of recent times very quickly. The only player who is seems to be in doubt for their match against second placed Roma, is their most important player, Paulo Dybala, who is suffering from a muscular problem and this might cost them dearly. Andrea Belotti could take the striker’s place should Dybala not prove his fitness in time.

Roma, on the other-hand, seemed to be satisfied with a draw in the Rome derby, even if the opening 45 minutes brought to light a great many worrying things that the Giallorossi need to address as soon as possible if they want to remain in contention for the title. During the second half though, they had the momentum and could have gone on to win the derby but didn’t take advantage of the chances they were given. This tricky match against Palermo, comes at the wrong time as more players are sidelined through suspension, which might end up costing the Giallorossi and seeing them drop further away from the top. The Giallorossi will travel with just one backup option in midfield, with the starting trio in the middle of the park easy to predict as key midfielders Radja Nainggolan and Daniele de Rossi are both suspended.
