Man City v QPR

Man City v QPR

Man City host QPR at The Etihad Stadium in the Sunday lunchtime kick off, with Man City all but guaranteed Champions League football next season, they will be hoping to make this official with a win over QPR.

Chelsea were finally announced as the 2014/15 Champions last week which brought an end to Man City’s run with the title, but now they will turn their attention to the greatest competition in football.

Rangers haven’t had a great season and currently sit seven points from safety with just three games to go. If results go against them on Saturday they could be relegated by the end of the game. The stats are not in the visitors favour either as Man City are undefeated in the last six games against Rangers.

Team News

Man City have been handed a big blow ahead of the clash as playmaker Samir Nasri has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a groin injury. But City have received some good news because Captain Vincent Kompany and midfielder Yaya Toure are fit and ready to return to the starting eleven.

QPR manager Chris Ramsey is in the middle of an injury crisis at Loftus Road as he looks like he is down to the bare bones of his squad. Steven Caulker, Clint Hill and Mauricio Isla are all doubts ahead of the Eithad clash whilst NedumOnuoha is suspended against his former club, Rio Ferdinand is missing on personal leave, Bobby Zamora is rated as fifty/fifty and Eduardo Vargas and Alejandro Faurlin remain side-lined.

Stats

Manchester City have lost just one of their last 15 Barclays Premier League home games (W11 D3 L1).

Sergio Aguero has scored three goals in four league matches against QPR, including his most famous goal of all on the final day of the 2011-12 season.

Only four goalkeepers (David James 13, Thomas Sorensen 12, Brad Friedel 10 & Mark Schwarzer 10) have saved more penalties in Premier League history than Rob Green (9).

Prediction

Man City enjoy running riot at the end of the season and it looks like this could be another route for the former champions. QPR will want to put up a fight to avoid another relegation from the top division of English football, but even without playmaker Samir Nasri, Man City will still formidable opponents.
