Lazio – Milan Match Preview

In their last two serie A matches Lazio threw away a two goal lead against Roma and followed that up with a home loss to Napoli, thus dropping points in the race for the European places. Whereas Milan have not won a single match in their last four and they lost their last two home games. Filippo Inzaghi’s future is said to be in the balance with good results needed in two upcoming games against Lazio (one in the league, one in the Coppa Italia). Five points and five positions separate these two sides, with Milan seven points off third place, what owner Berlsuconi has identified as a minimum target for the season. Lazio were doing very well before the draw against Roma, but there are some signs of a crisis developing that they will want to eradicate starting Saturday evening. The Rossoneri seen in recent weeks should not pose a thread to any organised team, so Stefano Pioli just needs a solid performance from his side, with no mistakes that might allow Milan to take charge in the game. Lazio are without Felipe Anderson, which means playing time for Keita Balde on the left wing with Federico Marchetti back in goal as he has served his suspension.

Inzaghi on the other hand, is low on options in defence with Cristian Zapata, Daniele Bonera and Adil Rami all sidelined. Midfielder Nigel de Jong is also a doubt, which means Riccardo Montolivo might play in front of the defence, with Sulley Muntari alongside him.
