Saturday 9th May Review
Review of today's two selections: EDEYMI - 8th of 10 at Haydock - The Tony Martin-trained seven-year-old disappointed again today. He ran in snatches, flat in most parts. Was traveling well approaching the 8th flight, but couldn't quicken with the leaders and dropped out. EMELL - 5th of 26 at Ascot - We collected a nice little profit from our each-way bet at 20/1 on Richard Hannon's Emell in the big Victoria Cup at Ascot. He didn't have the clearest of runs again and should have finished closer, but the winner (Speculative Bid) looked very good indeed. Satisfied enough with Emell's run. Today's return: +100 PROFIT.
Friday 8th May Review
Review of today's two selections: Barefoot Dancer - 7TH (Lingfield) - Bitterly disappointed with his effort, but he didn't look to handle conditions (was awkward on the downhill run and was eased by Jamie Spencer over one furlong out). Not one to give up on. Tac De Boistron - 2ND (Chester) - Advised at 5/2, Tac De Boistron was heavily punted to win at Chester (sent off at 11/10). If you were watching the race, you were counting your winnings turning for home, but ultimately seven pounds was too much to give to a battling rival, and he finished second with the front pair pulling well clear of the third. Additionally, if Martin Harley rode the race again, I don't think he would commit so early, but that's racing.
Update - NEW Staking Plan
Good evening all, To coincide with the new flat racing season, I have made the decision to adjust our staking plan and the way we bet. Our current staking plan (5% per bet) has worked for us in the main, but our profits are vulnerable if we have an inevitable dry spell, so the decision has been made to switch to a three-level staking plan which will reduce our outlay (amount of money staked / risked), limit any losses and ensure we’re making the maximum amount of profit long-term. Our three-level staking plan will break down as follows: 1% Bet (Example, £20 win or £10 each-way) - This is our lowest level of bet, and will typically be bigger priced selections. 2.5% Bet (Example, £50 win or £25 each-way) - This will be our most common level of bet. 5% Bet (Example, £100 win or £50 each-way) - This is our maximum level of bet, and will be reserved for selections I fancy extremely highly. It’s a new flat season, and it’s exciting times ahead for my members. I have been researching, collecting data and information from contacts within the racing word ahead of the new campaign, and predict a very profitable year ahead. As ever, if you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to get in touch, and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Kind Regards John Sills.
