Game Preview

The 2nd round of the NIT gets going when #8 CSU Bakersfield (23 - 9, 9 - 6 Away) squares off against the #4 Colorado State Rams (24 - 11, 15 - 5 Home). Colorado State will be hosting this game at the Moby Arena in Fort Collins, CO. The Colorado State Rams just bruised past Charleston this past week while we watched as CSU Bakersfield dismantled the top seeded California Golden Bears. CSU Bakersfield is obviously feeling really good right now, even on the road.

CSU Bakersfield is going to need a strong showing from senior scoring leader Jaylin Airington (14 PPG, 5 RPG, 2 APG) in this contest. Airington went 0 - 7 against California. We don't see CSU Bakersfield getting through consecutive bad games from their star. CSU Bakersfield is scoring 71 PPG on offense this season while shooting 44% from the field as a team. Defensively CSU Bakersfield is holding teams in check, giving up just 66 PPG.

The Colorado State Rams have the crowd at their backs but that won't count for much if they can't hit shots. Colorado State has been prone to offensive droughts this season and that won't work in the NIT. Colorado State is scoring 73 PPG on offense while shooting 43% from the field as a team. Emmanuel Omogbo (14 PPG, 10 RPG) is the guy to watch as he can give CSU Bakersfield the most trouble.

For me this game screams under and i´m backing it.
