Rytas and Neptunas will play the LKL game of the weekend with both teams being close rivals in the standings. When these two clubs meet, Neptunas usually wants to demonstrate they are up to Rytas' level, and their historic hate to the Vilnius team is like an extra motivation factor to them. On the other hand, Rytas are coming to this game after a heroic 89-73 Eurocup win in Istanbul over Galatasaray, and they will also want ot make a statement game in the local league following two recent losses at Juventus. These two losses in Utena, one of which happened in a cup and one in a league game, raised many eyebrows and Rytas critics came alive, so Vilnius will most definitely want to put the barking voices to bet, and their most recent victory in Istanbull will have given them extra confidence and energy.
In short, the game seems to be red hot. Both teams will try to keep the game tempo alive, Rytas trying to get some hype from the crowd by exploiting their transition offence, the mobility of the frontcourt lads, and three pointers, of course. Neptunas will attempt to use Galdikas' physical strength inside the paint, threes from now injury-free Dorsey, Galdikas, and Delininkaitis, and also some good episodes from growing talents Masiulis, Jogela, and Sedekerskis. Generally speaking, both teams have a lot of offensive weapons over each other, but I could not tell the same about their defences. Neptunas looked like a complete defensive tragedy in their last two matches in Panevezys and Zaragoza, allowing 102 and 86 respectively, so their defence seems to be in jeopardy in particular. Rytas should nick a home win at the end of the line, but Neptunas will want to play to their best against the bitter rivals from Vilnius after two bad games.
I think the match will be open, full of pace, free throws, and also three pointers - some of the hallmar features of these two teams.
