Who are they?
Another of the most highly recognisable names on the UK high street, as well as bookmaker with a significant online presence, in November 2016 Coral merged with Ladbrokes to form Ladbrokes Coral Group plc, becoming part of the largest bookmaking group in Britain.

Why should I bet with this bookmaker?
Competitive odds combined with a host of specials and all the reassurance you get from punting with one of the most recognized and respected names in the market. There are live streaming options, a fully comprehensive list of deposit and withdrawal options and the mobile app works a treat. They also offer best guaranteed odds on all UK and Irish horse racing meets. There is a nice sports stats section and Coral radio offers commentaries on a number of high profile sporting events, and there loads of news and blog articles to get stuck into.
Why shouldn’t I bet with this bookmaker?
There is nothing much to dampen spirits on the betting side, but something that could cause issue is the contact section of the site which leads customers to identify their issue and browse through a number of possible solutions before further contact options are offered (at this point the full list of phone, email and live chat options are offered). The list of sports on offer may not quite be as extensive as some of the other largest bookies either, but there is more than enough here to keep most customers satisfied. One final thing – there are a lot of restrictions on non-UK or Ireland based customers.

Other noteworthy specials
Clicking on the ‘offers’ tab on the top right of the landing page brings you to a host of specials which the book is constantly updating. At last glance, these were just some of the options;
- Join (and opt in) to the ‘Bet & Get’ club and stake £25 / €25 on any sport to claim your £10 / €10 free bet.
- Accumulator insurance on five-fold (or more) bets where one selections fails (initial stake is returned as a free bet).
- Enhanced odds on corners in an upcoming international football match.
Sports and markets available
There’s a pretty formidable list of sports, and the markets available on those sports are as you’d expect, with the full quota of match odds, over/unders, Asian Handicap and so on. As previously mentioned, perhaps the number of sports does not quite rival some of its competitors, but it does cover all of the most popular and the competitive odds offered by its traders are more than enough to make up for any shortfall here.
The in-play option offers cash out at any time, which is more or less a ‘must’ now for any sensible bettor. The radio, blog, news and sports sections are great ways to enjoy (and be educated in) your sports betting experience, and the ‘Bet & Get’ club is a nice option for more committed punters. Coral ‘Connect’ allows you to win online and pick up your cash in shop (if you are UK or Ireland based of course). The football jackpot option (available every week in season) guarantees a pool of £180,000, and there are comprehensive results and live score sections too.
Here is perhaps our one gripe – it’s not that easy to get onto the email and live chat options (which are all available) as first you must navigate through a number of questions about your issue. Of course we understand this approach, but sometimes it would just be nice to find exactly what you are looking for (the live chat box, for example) without jumping through any hoops. On the plus side, the ‘help’ section is pretty comprehensive, including well thought out (and answered) FAQs on every aspect of the platform.
The full list of e-wallets and even PayPal – all of which is to be anticipated with such a large market player.
4.5 / 5 – A high mark as you would probably expect from such a well-known participant in the online (and high street) market. Size can be detrimental as we all know, but in the competitive bookmaker business it is very difficult to claim a decent market share if you do not have something good to offer, and quite simply Coral do.
