Its not very often the bookies get it wrong but they have certainly got this one wrong in my eyes. No way should Gillingham be priced up at 3.08 for this game. They are one of the form sides in the division, they have won 5 of their last 6 games and most recently dispatched of promotion chasing Cheltenham 3-0 away from home. On loan signing Jordan Obita has been a revelation since joining the Gills and he looks to have given the whole squad a boost, he’s far too good for this division and could play an instrumental part in Gillinghams promotion hopes if he can extend his loan period long enough. Gillingham will go into this game with a lot of confidence after recent results and their last game especially and know a win against Crawley here will take them just 2 points behind them in the race for the play offs.
Crawley dont look the same side since the turn of the year but when you look at the fact they have sold Matt Tubbs and Tyrone Barnett, they let 40+ goals a season leave their team. That pair had already hit 31 goals between them before they were off loaded in January. Their next highest goalscorer is Andy Drury with just 4 goals. They have won just 1 of their last 8 and that was last time out against financially stricken Port Vale who could be about to enter adminstration. Crawley have also conceded 2 goals in each of their last 3 games, if they are going to get anything from this game they really need to start defending.Their is always an element of risk with these games but the value very much outweighs the risk on this one. Home win at a working man’s price.
