Red Baron to Fly at Thirsk

The Racing UK Profits Returned to Racing Handicap was won by 17.00 shot Noble Storm last year, but that probably won’t be the case in 2015 as the one to beat looks to be is Eric Alston-trained Red Baron.

The six-year-old put in an impressive performance at the York Dante Festival earlier this week and was narrowly beaten into second place by Out Do.

Ridden by Neil Farley, Red Baron is worth a punt priced 5.50.

Meshardal to Cement Dominant Form

The Andy Davis 50th Birthday Handicap was won last year by 8.00 shot Barkston Ash and this yearcould see history repeating itself as Meshardal looks to show his class against the field.

Completing a hat-trick of victories last time out at Doncaster for trainer Ruth Carr, the five-year-old looks unstoppable in 2015.

Ridden by J P Sullivan, he is our best bet priced 8.00.

Bet of the Day

The Marion Gibson Brown Memorial Handicap is one of the highlights of the day at Thirsk, run over 1 mile it was won last year by 17.00 shot Llanarmon Lad. This year looks to be different however, with Trinity Star looking the best bet.

Trained by Michael Dods, the four-year-old won his last outing at Pontefract after a slow start to 2015.

Ridden by Paul Murennan, Trinity Star is priced 7.00.
