Profiting from flat Jockey Graham Lee

Jockey Graham Lee

Graham Lee is an Irish jockey based in the England. He is one of the few jockeys to hold a dual licence allowing him to compete on both the flat and in National Hunt races. He was better known as a Jumps Jockey having ridden for high profile trainers John Howard Johnson and Ferdy Murphy but actually started his career in flat racing back in 1995, although it was a brief stint.
He has also won the Grand National and Scottish national, both in the same year making him one of the few jockeys to achieve such a feat.
Due to a number of injuries he received over his career in Nationa Hunt racing, he decided to switch back codes in 2012. His racing weight had to drop as a consequence but he can still ride at 8 stone and nine pounds.

There were a number of doubters within the industry that he could make a successful transition but he has proven many doubters wrong.

That is emphasised by recording over a century of winners (108) in his first season back on the flat from 893 rides representing a win strike rate of 12%. He continued to get over 100 winners for the next three seasons and recorded his best winning tally on the flat with 160 winners in 2014.

Last season saw a reduced number of winners with 53 victories to his name but he rode much less than usual with only 644 rides.

He has already surpassed that figure with even fewer rides this season, so, all in all, is having a better season.

He is considered a proper horseman by his peers, by that, he is considered a rider who looks after a horse with its future in mind. He has the ability to know once a horse is beaten sooner rather than later, this gives the horse a better chance of recovery and in better shape for its next race. Something worth bearing in mind for betting purposes.

He’s recorded just the one group win but with the quality of horses that he tends to ride that can be expected, in total, he has won 37 pattern races on the flat with the vast majority of those coming in listed class races.

Here are some worthwhile stats for betting purposes.

Please note records are based on a level staking plan to one Euro or Sterling per bet at SP (Industry prices).
