“Roxie Lot showed improvement when switched to the all-weather last autumn and she is an interesting contender here returning from a break. Not a lot went right for her last time at Wolverhampton but she is better judged on her previous efforts. Last August she went close at this track when perhaps finding the 7F trip too sharp, but showed improvement for the step up to 1 mile when a taking a Class 6 handicap by 1 length at Chelmsford next time. Bizarre front running tactics didn’t work on her next run but she returned to form when held up again next time out, staying on well into 2nd behind the progressive Jam Jar (winner next time, now rated 75) in a race that has worked out well with every runner winning since. Having just turned 4 she should have improvement to come from this mark of 61, just 4lbs higher than her winning mark. The nature of Kempton’s long straight will suit her running style and the wide draw shouldn’t inconvenience too much if they deploy the hold-up tactics with her. Previous winning rider Rob Hornby takes over again and she is worth an e/w bet.”
