“When you bet on or against Djokovic, you always have to consider what he thinks of his opponent. The more respect he has towards his opponent, the more he raises his level of play. I’m not talking about top 10 players, but about the matches when he is huge favorite. Jack Sock was the perfect example last week. He knew that you can’t allow to a player like Sock any chance for a comeback in a match and he never took his foot of the pedal. He didn’t stop after one break, he was pressing all the way. When he plays against players like Paire he knows he will get his chance and after the first break od serve he will not continue to put more pressure, so if the opponent doesn’t shut him self in a foot he will get a decent result.
Benoit Paire is a player who sometimes plays very inspirational tennis, and the bigger the scene is or the bigger the opponent is, he usually shines. Not enough for Djokovic to take him too seriously, but enough to put up a fight.
Djokovic was complaining about his elbow after the Murray match and even if it’s probably nothing he will not try make that problem worse by forsing the issue so close to US Open. I expect him to win this with a score 63 75 or similar and that is good enough for us”
