BARCELONA vs REAL MADRID – Match preview with Anton Ebdon

And here we are at the moment we mostly were waiting for! For the 2nd time in this 2011-12 Spanish La Liga season and the 6th time in this football campaign, Barcelona will once again lock horns with their Spanish archrivals Real Madrid in what should be quite an interesting matchup. What’s most interesting is the fact that a race for Spanish champion is still open, while many experts pointed Real Madrid to have the trophy already in their club cabinet placed. At some stage Los Blancos had 8 or even 10 points of advantage at Barça, while now the points difference has melted to only four in favor of Galacticos. This match which will take place this Saturday (21st April at 20:00CET)  could very well decide which football club will be crowned champions of the La Liga this year.

Real Madrid continues to lead the league standings this season. The only problem is, they’ve been losing their lead on their rivals as the Barcelona side continues to close the gap from second place with a series of thrilling and impressive performances. And unfortunately for Jose Mourinho’s boys, they haven’t responded much to Barcelona’s late season threat. Instead of matching Barca’s performances with impressive wins of their own, Real Madrid has struggle a bit. A testament of that is their recent draw to Valencia, a football club they could’ve gotten a win out of in front of the Los Blancos faithful at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. Their goalless draw with Valencia, after a couple of 1-1 draws against Malaga and Villarreal, lost Real Madrid another two points as Barca continues to chip away on that lead with only a handful of games left in the 2011-12 Spanish La Liga season.

To be honest it seems everything is opening up for a late season comeback for the defending La Liga champions. Barcelona still has a lot on their plate and a lot of things can still happen for the Barca side in about a month, when their football campaign officially comes to a close this season. El Clasico teams are right smack in the middle of the two legs that they have to settle with Chelsea FC and Bayern in their matchups in the Champions League. What’s more important is fact that if everything will goes after big brainiac minds we will have one more big fiesta with inter galactic final between those two magnificent teams.

What can we expect in this match? Some interesting bets can be find in red card market, Both teams to score, and finally I believe I can say that Barcelona has Real Madrid’s number this season and I reckon the Barca side will continue to close the gap with a win over the Los Blancos in this El Clasico encounter!
