Elnawin appears to have been given a chance by the handicapper who has relented in dropping his mark to 105 from his opening mark of a 110 at the beginning of this flat season.  This on the face of it, has occurred because his latest effort saw him finish second to a horse who was not only rated lower on official ratings but was racing on level weight terms as well.

However, taking form literally  from condition events can often prove misleading  in small fields or more importantly when there is not much pace on which was the case the last time this horse took to the track. He is much better judged on his form on fast ground over five furlongs, which is the conditions he has here and his last two efforts in these conditions have resulted in victory and prior to that in these circumstances he has been contesting in pattern company, so off a sliding mark back in handicap company he ought to go well here when also taking into account that he is drawn near the more pacier types to think he is in the  right place to be more involved, a factor that should always be taken into account at this course in particular.

He looks to hold good each way credentials.
