Bet Advisors Guide to Betting – Champions League Special Part 2

The group stages of the Champions League are now concluded and we know the identity of the teams who will take part in the round of the last 16 in February. With the impending draw due to take place on Monday, let’s take a look at how the best online football betting sites currently views the situation.

TOURNAMENT WINNERS

No changes and no surprises here with both Barcelona and Bayern Munich firm favourites to lift the trophy in May. Spanish giants Real Madrid come next, followed by Paris Saint-Germain. There is value to be had further down the list, with both Atletico Madrid and Arsenal competitively priced to cause a surprise. Belgian qualifiers AA Gent are the rank outsiders but they will be delighted to have got this far in the tournament.

Current Odds (Courtesy of Bwin)

Barcelona/Bayern Munich 3.60

Real Madrid 7.00

PSG 13.00

Manchester City/Chelsea 15.00

Atletico Madrid 17.00

Arsenal 23.00

TOP GOALSCORER

After breaking more records on Tuesday evening, Cristiano Ronaldo is the red hot favourite to win the Golden Boot. His closest challenger on the best sports betting websites is Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski. The Barcelona duo of Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi follow him. Hattrick hero in Greece on Wednesday, Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud, is nicely priced further down the field whilst another midweek record breaker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, may attract attention from his loyal fan base in Sweden.

Current Odds (Courtesy of Bwin)

Cristiano Ronaldo 1.18

Robert Lewandowski 5.75

Luis Suarez 15.00

Lionel Messi 17.00

Olivier Giroud 41.00

Zlatan Ibrahimovic 81.00

FINAL SPECIALS

As we await the draw for the last 16, now would be a good time for anyone who fancies a flutter at naming the finalists to make their move. The so called “Dream Final” would surely be that of Barcelona against Bayern Munich with the sorcerer, Pep Guardiola pitting his wits against his apprentice, Luis Enrique. Both clubs are short priced to make the final in Milan on May 28th next year. A repeat of the 2014 final between the two Madrid clubs is still a possibility at this stage and both Real and Atletico are short priced after the two main protagonists and PSG, who split Spain and Germany. Of course we cannot rule out the first all English final since 2008 however, the eventual winners of that tournament, Manchester United, will not be in the betting having been eliminated at the group stage on Tuesday. Juventus head the Italian challenge whilst fellow Serie A contenders AS Roma have been pretty much ignored after their lacklustre display in the capital on Wednesday.

Current Odds (Courtesy of Bwin)

Barcelona/ Bayern Munich 2.00

Real Madrid 3.40

PSG 6.50

Atletico Madrid/Chelsea/Manchester City 7.50

Arsenal 12.00

Juventus 15.00

AS Roma 34.00
