It's not easy to buy half a point, at least for me, but here I feel that Lakers will win for sure and try to give up as smallest chalk as possible to ensure the win and increase the units instead.
Bayless and Bargniani both out and that's huge against Lakers, since big man scoring three pointers and fast PG/SG are two of Lakers toughest match ups. Toronto still has Kleiza and Barbosa, but Lakers should take care of them. Lakers off a rest always a good bet this season and when they are 2 - 3 this road trip, about to end it and desperate to split the trip. Toronto on the other hand, off huge revenge win against Boston should calm down a bit. Lakers can beat Toronto in the paint, can outshoot them from the field. Really no brainer here for me. WHY I LOST THIS PICK:
Two main things I'm bothered by. One is the lack of ability by the Lakers to play on the road. Lakers at home off a rest = money. Lakers on the road without rest = money, if you bet the rival team. Second thing is that Western teams fail to win statement games on the road against Eastern weak teams. Dallas in Cleveland, Lakers in Toronto, Spurs in Milwaukee, Clippers in Cleveland. I feel that at least right now, we should stay off taking Western second tier team agaisnt East weak teams on the road. | |
